Analogue to Digital TV Signal Transmission Migration
Analogue TV transmission platform has been in use for several decades now enabling broadcasters to air their programs and viewers to watch their favorite TV shows. Despite being popular for such a long time, analogue platform is limited in terms of features and the quality of signal reception hence the need for a better technology. There has been a lot of excitement after several countries decided to migrate from traditional analogue TV signal transmission to digital terrestrial platform.
There are several ways broadcasters use in distributing their TV signals to consumers ranging from satellite, internet, analogue, cable to digital transmission. Unlike other methods, satellite does not require additional equipment to redistribute TV signals meaning consumers from any location can subscribe and receive programs from providers; apart from monthly subscriptions, you’ll need to acquire a decoder and satellite dish from your service provider to enjoy quality TV signal reception.
Most cable TV providers use coaxial cables to redistribute their TV signals to consumers; coaxial cables consist of an internal copper wire and a braided metal after the inner insulation essentially to minimize signal distortion due to interference. In order to subscribe to cable TV service, there must be an existing near by coaxial cable from the provider, channels received via this method are clearer than traditional analogue signals. Harry Potter – The End of an Era But We Still Have More to Look Forward To
Whilst it’s the end of the Harry Potter film and book series, the adventure for Harry Potter fans across the globe isn’t finished yet. There are many events we have to look forward to over the next couple of months; Pottermore website launch, release of the Deathly Hallows part 2 DVD and of course Harry Potter World Universal Orlando celebration packages.
When first released on the 15th of June, we saw a small glimpse of the Pottermore website albeit very small. Pottermore drew huge media attention and speculation from almost every Potter fan on the planet, one of the biggest rumours is that Pottermore is going to be an MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game. The online trademark, owned by Warner Bros, gives a hint to what we can expect: “Providing multiple-user access to a global computer information network; providing on-line chat rooms and electronic bulletin boards for transmission of messages among users in the field of general interest”.
Some lucky few managed to grab a spot as beta testers for the new Harry Potter website through a series of quiz questions. Testers were able to test some of the features, such has Harry potter spells, potion making, flying and duelling which will later become available to the general public sometime in October. The Fashion of James Bond
Who in the history of film has gone through more fashion trends than James Bond? I remember my fashion awakening in the 90′s, reading an article in Playboy (yeah, I read the articles) discussing Pierce Brosnan’s wardrobe in Goldeneye. The article talked about the return of the nautical blazer with gold buttons and the matching of Bond’s Omega watch face to his outfit, something I still do to this day.
Whether it was Sean Connery showing how you could fight in a suit and not ruin the crease or Brosnan’s pretty-boy, born to wear a tux look, the Bond franchise has something to teach from every era.
Sean Connery (1962 – 1971)
The original Bond typically wore two buttoned, single-breasted suits known as the Conduit Cut. With lots of blues and grays, Bond was almost always in a suit. The lapels were of narrow to medium width, wider if the suit was a three-piece with a blue or white shirt. This style of suit has made a come back with the popularity of Mad Men and is very easily copied. Another trademark of Connery’s Bond was a plain white pocket square, neatly folded, either rectangular in or in a single peak. Read the rest of this entry »
